it must be used with either (A) our Backrest Mount Plates or (B) one of our Luggage Racks.
(shown in pictures, sold separately, you dont need both) either one includes hardware to attach the Mounts or Rack to the bike, that will be the platform the Backrest can attach to.

Installation note: this kit mounts to factory rack and install does require drilling holes into the small factory plastic rack, shown in last picture
